VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is seeking a part-time, experienced Endodontist to join our dental service. The selected clinician will be proficient in all endodontic phases and work collaboratively within a diverse clinical team to provide high-quality care.

Qualifications

• DMD or DDS from an ADA-accredited program.
• Board certification in Endodontics preferred.
• Proficient in diagnosis, treatment, and post-treatment care in Endodontics.
• Experience in anterior/posterior endodontics and apical surgery.
• Ability to manage medically complex patients and provide prosthodontic care.
• Work with residents and other dentists; use the electronic dental record system.

Responsibilities

• Provide endodontic care for anterior and posterior teeth and apical surgery.
• Assess, diagnose, treat, and provide post-treatment care.
• Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Collaborate with dentists and physicians; supervise residents as needed.
• Follow established protocols and use the dental electronic record system.
• Work under the Chief/Assistant Chief of Dental Service and adhere to policy.

Summary

Duties

• Major Duties and Responsibilities: The Endodontist will have earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and will have completed an ADA accredited training program in Endodontics
• Board certification in Endodontics or board eligibility in accordance with the rules of The American Board of Endodontics is preferred
• The individual will be experienced and competent in all phases of Endodontics including anterior - and posterior as well as apical surgery
• The individual must be proficient in assessment - diagnosis - treatment and post-treatment care in all the above areas
• They must be trained and competent in providing Basic life Support (BLS)
• They must be able to manage medically complex patients and provide appropriate prosthodontic treatment
• The individual must be proficient in assessment - diagnosis - treatment and post treatment care in all the above areas
• The individual must be able to work collegially with other dentists and physicians - and should possess the skills - both interpersonal and professional - to work with residents in all areas and specialties of dentistry Assignment includes advanced understanding and use of the computerized record system
• Work is assigned by the Chief or Assistant Chief of dental as well as other providers as indicated dentist
• The Endodontist plans and completes tasks based on established protocols/accepted dental practices
• The Endodontist's work is reviewed on an overall basis by the Chief - Dental Service for conformity to Dental Service policy and requirements
