DENTIST (DMD, DDS) SCHEDULE

DENTIST (DMD, DDS) POSITION SUMMARY

The Dentist provides dental services, conducts clinical examinations of admissions, and, as indicated, treats patients' needs.

DENTIST (DMD, DDS) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform and interpret radiographic exams as indicated.
• Provide dental treatment, including emergency care, oral surgery, restorative dentistry, and periodontal therapy within the scope of a general Dentist, including extractions.
• Address significant oral health problems that may adversely affect inmate health.
• Make referrals for procedures that cannot be performed at the facility.
• Report any unusual occurrences or accidents to the site or Regional Medical Director. Attend required training and meetings.

DENTIST (DMD, DDS) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Maintain a current DEA number.
• Be licensed in the state.
• Be fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
• Demonstrate teamwork and supportive attitude.
• Make independent decisions when necessary.
• Deal tactfully with personnel, family, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
• Possess leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Pose no threat to the health or safety of others.
