Job summary

Valley View Health Centers seeks a Staff Dentist to provide comprehensive and emergency dental services in accordance with clinical guidelines and state regulations in Ohio. You will contribute to resident education, quality improvement, and team-based patient care to promote optimal oral health outcomes.

The role includes supervision of dental residents, adherence to professional standards, and participation in quality assurance activities within VVHC.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from a CODA-accredited dental program.
• Preference for direct patient care in community health center or FQHC dental program.
• Current Ohio State Dental Board license in good standing.
• CPR/AED certification (American Heart Association) and BLS.
• Professional verification of licensure, registration and allergy/health status.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive and emergency dental services including diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Perform general restorative procedures and uncomplicated endodontics.
• Deliver fixed and removable prosthodontics and review patient vitals and medical history prior to treatment.
• Prescribe and interpret radiographs and laboratory studies; refer to in-house or specialty care as needed.
• Provide oral health education to patients and families; ensure a positive patient experience.
• Exercise professional judgment consistent with VV policies and infection control standards.
• Maintain charting, documentation, and competency; prepare and confirm laboratory cases.
• Supervise residents and support didactic and clinical teaching related to patient care.
• Contribute to quality improvement, safety, and continuous performance initiatives.
