Job summary

Care For the Homeless in New York seeks a Dentist to join our Health Center team. You will provide primary, preventive and reconstructive dental services to homeless individuals and families in a mission-driven setting.

The role emphasizes patient care, collaboration with clinical staff, and learning our electronic health record system. NY license, DDS/DMD, CPR, and DEA in good standing are required; GPR is preferred.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD required.
  • GPR preferred.
  • Current NY dental license and DEA in good standing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and infection control compliance.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Professional liability insurance.
  • NPI.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary, preventive and reconstructive dental services within the scope of a dental practice.
  • Manage patients in the outpatient setting and refer to outside centers when needed.
  • Participate in clinical performance improvement activities including peer review of charts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide primary, preventive and reconstructive dental services, including but not limited to, diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, treatment of oral conditions and illnesses within the scope of a dental practice, referral and follow-up of patients when indicated
  • Management of patients in the outpatient setting, and refer them to appropriate outside centers as needed for management and treatment
  • Participation in general clinical performance improvement activities including regular peer review of each colleagues’ s charts is a requirement
  • Dentist is expected to learn and use CFH electronic health record system including practice management software, medical record software, dental record software, and digital radiograph software
  • Regular attendances of scheduled meetings of the dental staff and clinical staff is mandatory
  • Chart completion is consistent with CFH P/P
Requirements:
  • Doctoral Degree (DDS or DMD) required.
  • General Practice Residency (GPR) preferred.
  • Current NY dental license and DEA in good standing
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and infection control compliance
  • Current CPR certification
  • Prof Liability insurance
  • NPI
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience; new grads welcome
  • Self-directed; ability to direct and manage tasks and treat patients independently.
