Job Description
Chief James Smith Correctional Center
Positions in this job family are responsible for the administration, planning, implementation and management, and improvement of a comprehensive program of preventive dentistry; and a dental care and treatment program, including diagnostic, prosthetic, surgical, endodontic, periodontal, and restorative dentistry, for persons who are in state custody or care.
This is the full performance level. Incumbents are responsible for performing all functions, and activities including the diagnosis, treatment, management, and coordination of services related to patients’ oral health needs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required include knowledge of the principles and practices of modern dentistry and oral hygiene, and of state legislation regarding the provision of dental services; supervisory principles and practices; and the application of interpersonal communication.
Abilities required at this level include the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; develop programs within policy limits; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; apply improved techniques and procedures in all phases of the dental program; and prepare and present educational programs.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consists of licensure to practice dentistry in the state of Oklahoma and one (1) year of experience in general dentistry.
This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work.
