Job Details Job Location: Toms River, NJ 08754 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $100.00 - $105.00 Hourly Job Shift: Day

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dentist at Ocean County, Toms River NJ, working 10 hours a week is responsible for providing general dentistry and patient care services consistent with current CFG clinical guidelines, community standards of care, and contractual obligations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs and documents routine dental assessments and evaluations on inmate patients referred by the nursing/professional staff of the assigned correctional facility consistent with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards of care, NJ 10-A, American Correctional Association (ACA) and Performance Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) as appropriate.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the dental assistant and dental hygienist
  • Follow CFG policy and procedures
  • Ability to assess and diagnosis dental conditions, evaluate treatment options, implement treatment plans and educate patients on oral health care.
  • Performs and interprets radiographic dental exams as indicated.
  • Records all dental care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and in the appropriate forms.
  • Provides emergency treatment of the teeth and surrounding soft tissues such as oral surgery, restorative dentistry and periodontal therapy, within the scope of general dentistry.
Qualifications Minimum Education
  • Completion from an accredited dental school facility with a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
  • Completion of a US based residency program in a dental facility. Current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state the facility is located (always maintain a current copy of license on file at the facility).
Minimum Work Experience

Previous clinical experience in the dental field indicates knowledge of diagnosis, assessment, and implementation of appropriate treatment plans.

  • Capable of preparing written reports and tracking statistical data
  • Maintains an active Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
  • Must have an unrestricted and valid prescriptive authority with Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS

  • May be required to work nights, weekend, and holidays.
  • Must pass security background check

  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities.
  • Completes required orientation and training
  • Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures and adheres to current CDC guidelines
  • Follows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence Protocol.
  • Adheres to PREA regulations.
  • Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility.
  • Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication with supervising staff.
