Job summary

University of Southern California is seeking a 6-month fixed term Dental X-Ray Technician to perform intraoral radiographs and digital panoramic imaging for patient care. The role includes training students and faculty on X-ray procedures and providing chair-side assistance in a dynamic teaching environment.

Minimum education is high school with radiography training; certifications in Radiation Safety and BLS/CPR are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized/technical radiography training.
• Radiation Safety certificate.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Experience with digital X-ray equipment will be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Take digital X-rays and input images into dental management software (axiUm).
• Schedules appointments and data entry.
• Demonstrates proper use of X-ray equipment to students and faculty.
• Provides dental chair-side assistance to students, residents, and faculty.
• Assembles and prepares patient records.
• Ensures patient X-rays are forwarded to chart area.
• Assists faculty in supervising students' clinical/laboratory experiences and critiques radiographs.
• Maintains clean, professional work areas and performs equipment maintenance.
• Complies with radiation health and infection control procedures.
