DENTAL TREATMENT COORDINATOR- Full Time

Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) provides patient-centered, team-based primary care to residents of Western North Carolina. We are committed to caring for our patients with purpose and integrity and providing our team members with the support they need. We are looking for a full-time Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will have dental treatment experience. Bilingual in Spanish, Russian and/or Ukrainian highly preferred, but not required. Clinic hours are Monday – Friday, 8 am to 6 pm. The Dental Treatment Coordinator would work five days a week from 8 am to 4:30 pm or 8 am to 5 pm depending on length of their lunch break.

The Dental Treatment Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to facilitate the patient’s office experience and ensure the patient leaves well informed and prepared for their next appointment. This includes ensuring the patient understands their treatment plan and insurance benefits, assisting with financial arrangements, and coordination of appointments. The Dental Treatment Coordinator will also be cross trained to work at the front desk for additional shift coverage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and present treatment plan and financial estimates to patients for all prescribed treatment.
  • Schedule patient treatment appointments, reschedule patients that miss their appointment, and call patients that have not completed treatment.
  • Manage Doctor and hygiene schedules to achieve utilization goals through efficient use of appointment time.
  • Assist patients with financial arrangements.
  • Provide patients with written Good Faith Estimates for treatment costs.
  • Complete pre-authorization.
  • Effectively communicate and develop a strong working relationship with other members of the dental team and promote teamwork through cooperative and professional behaviors.
  • Check patients out.
  • Answer and return incoming calls from patients.
  • Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient’s records.
  • Follow and demonstrate commitment to the WNCCHS policies, mission, vision, and values.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience providing administrative duties in a dental clinical setting
  • Integrity and excellent business interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent writing skills and oral communication
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of healthcare professionals, business professionals, and patients with various socio-economic backgrounds and barriers.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize to complete tasks with attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Experience: Minimum two years of dental clinical or administrative experience, or healthcare insurance/coding experience.

Education and Training: Highschool diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
