Dental Technician Assistant

Boulder, CO. Come work at CASE, a specialty and emergency veterinary hospital where you will gain experience, have fun, and make a positive difference every day.

Compensation

• $20–$23 hourly, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the department in creating patient estimates for dental patients
• Assist the department in obtaining patient medical history
• Proficiency in admitting and discharging patients within the Dentistry Service
• Demonstrate exceptional client communication and education as well as assist with scheduling appointments, procedures, and advanced imaging
• Practice proper and safe patient restraint of dental patients
• Assist the department with general venipuncture, peripheral catheter placement and maintenance
• Demonstrate knowledge in handling names of surgical instruments
• Assist the department with dental prophylaxis and surgical procedures
• Maintain dental equipment and general inventory

Dental Anesthesia‑Related Skills and Responsibilities

• Assist technician with pre‑anesthesia examination to determine safety and risks for dentistry cases
• Understand and use CASE anesthesia monitoring forms/protocols
• Proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting anesthesia machinery
• Assist technician with induction and recovery of dental patients

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology
