Job summary

Clove Dental in Ventura, CA seeks a Sterilization Technician III to join our clinical team. You will clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and store instruments per infection-control protocols, maintain logs per OSHA, and assist with X-ray setup when trained.

Qualifications

• Infection-control training and compliance with OSHA standards.
• Ability to assist with X-ray setup and other clinical-support duties when trained and legally permitted.
• HIPAA compliance and professional attendance, dress code and name-badge standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and store instruments per infection-control protocols.
• Maintain sterilization areas, equipment, logs, and testing per OSHA standards.
• Support X-ray setup and other permitted clinical duties when trained.
• Stock operatories and inventories; notify team when low.
• Sterilize instruments and organize cassettes; ensure lab cases are prepared.
• Lead daily sterilization workflow; ensure instruments are processed, stored, and available.
• Scan and send lab cases as required.
• Turnover rooms quickly between patients; disinfect surfaces and prep rooms.
• Transport instruments between operatories and sterilization with proper separation.
• Maintain clean clinical, sterilization, laboratory, and supply areas.
• Support front office tasks as needed; arrive on time and stay until close.
• Hold Sterilization Technician I–II teammates accountable for quality and completion.

Job description

Sterilization Technician III
Pay Range: $21–$23/hour

Assist Dentist

• Clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and properly store dental instruments according to Company infection-control protocols.

• Maintain sterilization areas, equipment, logs, and required testing in accordance with OSHA and infection-control standards.

• Support X-ray setup and other permitted clinical-support duties when appropriately trained and legally permitted.

Labs/Supplies

• Stock operatories, sterilization areas, and clinical supplies and notify the appropriate team member when inventory is running low.

• Sterilize instruments and make sure cassettes are organized

• Make sure lab cases in office

• Monitor sterilization equipment, testing, logs, and infection-control documentation and identify missing or incomplete requirements.

• Lead the daily sterilization workflow and ensure instruments are properly processed, sterilized, stored, and available when needed without disrupting patient care.

• In charge of scanning and sending lab cases

Patient Experience

• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, attendance, dress, name-badge, and other Company standards.

Office Cleanliness

• Operatories keep organized and clean, Check In / Check Out keep clean, Floors / Lights / Doors (throughout the office)

• Turn over treatment rooms quickly and thoroughly between patients, including disinfecting surfaces and preparing rooms for the next procedure.

• Transport instruments, materials, and supplies between operatories and sterilization while maintaining proper separation of clean and contaminated items.

• Maintain clean and organized clinical, sterilization, laboratory, and supply areas throughout the day.

Leadership

• Answer phones in 2 rings as needed when front office is busy

• Arrive on time and stay until close

• Build schedules to have productive days and be willing to work as needed

• Refer new staff to the recruiting team

• Volunteer for our events, social work, and marketing efforts

• Support dental assistants and providers with basic room setup, breakdown, and non-clinical needs within the permitted scope of the role.

• Support office cleaning, supply organization, and other clinical or operational duties as assigned.

• Hold Sterilization Technician I–II team members accountable for completion and quality of assigned sterilization, turnover, stocking, and cleaning responsibilities.
