Job summary

Clove Dental is seeking a Sterilization Technician III to manage the daily sterilization workflow, ensuring instruments are properly processed, stored, and available for patient care at the Santa Monica facility.

The role involves cleaning, disinfecting, packaging, and organizing instruments, maintaining logs and OSHA-compliant standards, and supporting clinical staff with sterilization and basic room setup as needed.

Qualifications

• Sterilization experience in dental/medical settings.
• Familiarity with OSHA infection-control standards.
• Ability to manage sterilization workflow and instrument storage.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments according to infection-control protocols.
• Maintain sterilization areas, equipment, logs, and required testing per OSHA standards.
• Assist with X-ray setup and other permitted clinical-support duties when trained and permitted.
• Stock operatories, sterilization areas, and clinical supplies; notify when inventory is low.
• Sterilize instruments and organize cassettes; ensure lab cases are prepared.
• Monitor sterilization equipment, testing, logs, and infection-control documentation.
• Lead the daily sterilization workflow and ensure instruments are properly processed, stored, and available without disrupting patient care.
• In charge of scanning and sending lab cases.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, attendance, dress, name-badge, and other Company standards.
• Turn over treatment rooms quickly and thoroughly between patients, including disinfecting surfaces.
• Transport instruments, materials, and supplies between operatories and sterilization while maintaining clean/contaminated separation.
• Maintain clean and organized clinical, sterilization, laboratory, and supply areas.
• Answer phones in 2 rings as needed when front office is busy.
• Arrive on time and stay until close.
• Build schedules to have productive days and be willing to work as needed.
• Refer new staff to the recruiting team.
• Volunteer for events, social work, and marketing efforts.
• Support dental assistants and providers with basic room setup, breakdown, and non-clinical needs within scope.
• Support office cleaning, supply organization, and other duties as assigned.
• Hold Sterilization Technician I–II team members accountable for completion and quality of sterilization, turnover, stocking, and cleaning responsibilities.
