Job summary

Tom Ellerhorst DDS, MSD is seeking a dedicated Sterilization Assistant to join our San Mateo, CA dental team. This role focuses on keeping the practice safe and sterile, ensuring every patient is cared for in a clean environment.

Training is provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Responsibilities include sterilizing instruments, operating autoclaves, restocking treatment rooms, and documenting cycles to meet OSHA and CDC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sterilize, and prepare dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols
• Operate and maintain autoclave and other sterilization equipment
• Organize and restock treatment rooms and instrument trays between patient appointments
• Monitor and document sterilization cycles to ensure compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines
• Maintain inventory of sterilization supplies and notify lead assistant when restocking is needed
• Support clinical staff by ensuring instruments and materials are ready and available at all times
