The MetroHealth System is seeking a dental billing and patient access specialist to serve as the initial contact for dental practice patients at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

You will gather and analyze patient demographic and payor data to maximize reimbursement, ensure accurate registration, scheduling, pre-certification, and service authorization, and uphold our mission and customer service standards.

Competenze

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience, or education related to dental billing or patient registration.
• CHAA certification; PSR prereq 75% and post-employment 80% scores required.

Summary

Serves as a preliminary contact for dental practice patients. Gathers/analyzes patient demographic and payor data to achieve optimal reimbursement for The MetroHealth System. Ensures appropriate patient registration, scheduling, pre-certification, and authorization for services. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Possess one of the following:

• One year of related experience.
• Education related to dental billing or patient registration from an accredited institution.
• Current certification as a Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA). All qualified applicants must pass the PSR pre-employment screening test with a score of 75% or better and the post-employment test of 80% or better. Preferred: Education that includes dental billing, coding, and dental terminology. Two years of relevant work experience and education or externships may be applied as work experience. High-volume office or receptionist experience in a dental environment. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents
