Job summary

Adventist Health Sonora seeks a Dental Assistant to join our daytime team. You will prepare materials, assist the dentist, expose and develop radiographs, and help maintain a safe, efficient office.

Required and preferred qualifications include a High School Education or GED, an RDA license in the state, Radiation Safety, Coronal Polish, Sealant licenses, and CPR/BLS certification. Full-time, on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required.
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred.
• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in state of practice: Required.
• Radiation Safety Certificate: Required.
• Coronal Polish license: Required.
• Sealant license: Required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required.

Responsibilities

• Sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment. Prepares treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
• Greets and prepares patients for treatment.
• Exposes, develops and mounts dental radiographs. Assists the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
• Records medical and dental histories and vital signs, and treatment information of patient.
• Participates in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals. Provides patient education materials. Maintains an appropriate office environment.
