Job summary

Qualifications

Basic dental training is required.
Prior dental experience or background is a plus.

Responsibilities

Fabricates and repairs dental prostheses per doctor's orders.
Reads prescription included with case; constructs prostheses by following doctors’ written orders and instructions.
Communicates with colleagues and managers promptly.
Uses materials including metal and non-metal (porcelain, composite, acrylic, etc.) to fabricate dentures and restorations.
Replaces partial or total loss of natural teeth by constructing partial or full dentures.
Makes models of mouth and teeth from impressions.
Performs wax modeling and builds up wax replicas on models.
Uses wax, plastic, metal or ceramic materials to create replacement appliances.
Builds-up ceramic restorations by applying layers of porcelain.
Polishes and finishes appliances for proper fit.
Applies stains and glazes to restorations to achieve natural appearance.
Documents actions by completing forms and logs.
Maintains quality standards with quality control specialists.
Prepares equipment and materials for production.
Relies on technical knowledge to meet department goals.
Performs other related duties as directed.
