Louis campus is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Patient Services Advocate to manage patient registration and payments, and to serve as a liaison between dental students and patients. The role includes collecting demographic data, applying a sliding fee scale for uninsured patients, verifying insurance, and coordinating with clinic staff to ensure accurate billing and follow-up while upholding HIPAA

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years healthcare setting experience preferred.
2 years customer service experience required.
Knowledge of third-party reimbursement.
Proficient in basic computer skills and data entry.

Responsibilities

Interview patients and collect demographic information for their chart.
Explain HIPAA and patient privacy policies to patients.
Determine fees for uninsured patients using sliding fee scale and collect payments.
Verify third-party coverage and collect copays.
Refer patients to resources for funding options.
Notify clinic staff when patients are ready to be seen.
Schedule follow-up appointments and manage patient check-out documents.
Act as liaison between dental students and patients.
Answer incoming calls for dental students and providers.
Record no-shows, cancellations, and late arrivals.
