Pediatric Dentistry of Valley Stream in Valley Stream, NY is looking to hire a full-time Dental Assistant. Are you ready to take the next step in your career in dentistry? A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DENTAL ASSISTANT

As a Dental Assistant, you are a vital part of our practice and help our dentists and orthodontists be as productive and efficient as possible. You arrive each day to our warm and inviting atmosphere where you feel like a valued member of the team. After reviewing the daily schedule, you set up the appropriate trays and instruments. You greet patients and escort them to their chair in a friendly manner. With attention to detail, you offer chairside assistance to dentists and prepare patients for exams and treatments. You take and develop X-rays. In a positive and engaging manner, you instruct young patients in good oral hygiene.

With your kind demeanor and consistent positive communication, you build trust with both parents and children and put them at ease. And, your helpful, can-do attitude makes you a joy to work with. You are conscientious about making accurate and detailed notes in our dentist practice software and keeping everything organized. As you clean and sterilize equipment and surfaces, you play a key role in enforcing infection control. You enjoy both meeting new people and touching base with long-time patients and get great satisfaction out of providing an important service to families in your community!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DENTAL ASSISTANT

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience as a dental assistant OR certification as a registered dental assistant

A dental X-Ray license, radiation safety certification, coronal polishing certification, knowledge in practice management charting, and experience in treatment planning are preferred. But multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Are you attentive to detail and have the ability to follow strict protocol? Do you have excellent interpersonal skills? Are you dependable, dedicated, and diplomatic? Do you find it easy to establish a good rapport with patients? Can you exercise sound judgment? WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time position typically works 9:00 AM - 500 PM, but hours vary.
