Job description

Position Summary

The Dental Mechanic will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of dental equipment for the Kornberg School of Dentistry. This includes hand pieces, the hand piece delivery system, sterilizers, dental chairs, plumbing related to clinical equipment, lab equipment, x‑ray units, and processors. The role also involves ordering supplies, keeping accurate inventory, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain clinical dental equipment such as dental chairs, sinks, hand pieces, sterilizers, and x‑ray units.
  • Install, repair, and maintain laboratory equipment and practice units.
  • Order necessary supplies and equipment and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Perform plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs as needed.
  • Travel between dental school clinics as required.

Hours and Compensation

Hourly rate: $37.06 per hour.

General hours are Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with required schedule flexibility for occasional earlier hours, weekends, or other adjustments.
