We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 50 labs throughout the country. Our team is growing, and we are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at West Coast Dental Lab in Hawthorn, CA for a Dental Lab Technician Trainee (Dentures).

The regular hours for this position are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and are subject to change.

This is a full-time position with benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave; 401K with company contribution; and tuition reimbursement.

There are classifications or levels of Dental Technicians: I, II, and III, based on experience and training.

As a Dental Laboratory Technician in the Denture department, you may be trained on or assigned tasks involved in processing denture appliances, including:

• Creating models from denture impressions using dental stone and eliminating bubbles and voids.
• Using an articulator to simulate jaw movement for attaching teeth with wax.
• Shaping and carving wax to resemble gums for dentures.
• Fabricating custom impression trays and wax bite rims.
• Setting up teeth in the desired occlusal scheme and building up gingival contours with wax.
• Setting dentures in a flask, removing wax, and injecting acrylic into the mold.
• Removing plaster, polishing, and finishing dentures.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required

• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks daily.
• Skills in preparing impression material, trimming models, setting and sealing bites, articulating, wax modeling, processing, and finishing dentures.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Relevant employment experience may substitute for education.

Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used

• Laboratory equipment such as grinders, lathes, ovens, burners, steamers, and boiling water.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting for long periods, working in uncommon postures, and maneuvering small tools with hands and fingers.
