Title: Dental Lab Technician - Fixed Bander

Rate: $17.00 - $18.50

Schedule: M-F, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Summary: Responsible for accurately banding a variety of orthodontic appliances while adhering to Great Lakes Dental Technologies' established procedures and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail and precision to ensure each appliance meets the highest standards for functionality and fit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately band orthodontic models, including Herbst appliances, using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure a secure and durable fit.
  2. Conduct thorough quality checks on banded appliances to ensure they meet prescribed specifications and adhere to our quality standards.
  3. Prepare and maintain your workstation, including organizing tools and materials, ensuring a safe and clean working environment, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  4. Maintain detailed records of all banded appliances, tracking their progress through the production process and ensuring accurate documentation. Prioritize work by completing tasks in order due.
  5. Complete assigned processes according to Great Lakes standards and time constraints.
  6. Remain current and adhere to all safety and occupational health policies and procedures.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No previous education or experience required; training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and work in a team.
  • Basic knowledge of dental and orthodontic anatomy is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of appliance fabrication.
  • Knowledge of appliance function.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to review data, draw conclusions, and make suggestions based on data.
