Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking a Dental Laboratory Technician to fabricate crowns, bridges, dentures, and occlusal splints while guiding dental students in lab procedures. This role involves setting up teeth, wax rims, final molds and fabrications in the lab.

You will support lab exercises, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain lab operations to ensure high-quality patient care outcomes and learning experiences for students, residents, and faculty.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ADA Dental Technology program and one year of dental laboratory experience.
• Or High School diploma/GED with three years of dental laboratory experience.
• Proficient technology expert to assist faculty and students in lab tasks.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate crown and bridge work.
• Fabricate occlusal splints.
• Fabricate dentures from impression to insert.
• Complete prosthetic repairs, relines, and re-bases.
• Assist students with setup of teeth, wax rims, final molds and fabrications in the lab.
• Assist with denture setups and polishing.
• Collaborate with educators to troubleshoot problems.
• Inspect equipment and request repairs or upgrades as needed.
• Plan and implement laboratory exercises for students, residents and faculty.
• Work with the dental team to provide patient care.
