The dental laboratory technician is responsible for teaching and demonstrating laboratory techniques to predoctoral students in the CAD/CAM Clinic and lab. The technician maintains equipment, supplies, and cleanliness in the lab. They ensure all necessary materials are available for patient care and that all cases are adequately prepared and approved by supervising faculty. The technician works directly with students in using CAD/CAM technology to take impressions, create 3D designs, determine appropriate materials, and mill restorations. They assist faculty in digital dentistry courses, competency exams, and patient cases. The technician must be able to demonstrate all steps of producing ceramic restorations using CAD/CAM technology.
Fabricates dentures, dental restorations, and dental frameworks using digital scanning technology. Works with digital files, 3D printed models, and dental design software. Maintains equipment and supplies.
The technician teaches and demonstrates laboratory techniques to predoctoral students, maintains lab equipment and supplies, ensures availability of materials for patient care, prepares and approves cases, and assists with digital dentistry courses and patient cases. Must demonstrate all steps of producing ceramic restorations using CAD/CAM technology.
Walking, standing, staining. Must be able to stand for extended periods. Must have manual dexterity and the ability to occasionally lift heavy items.
