Job summary

Dentist in Concord is seeking a licensed dental hygienist in North Carolina to join our team. You will perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, periodontal maintenance, full charting, radiographs, and screen for oral cancer and disease, while educating patients on home care.

Qualifications

• Licensed dental hygienist in NC (active).
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Local anesthesia certification where permitted by state.
• Strong periodontal charting habits and interpretation.
• Ability to educate patients to improve home care.

Responsibilities

• Perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance per patient diagnosis.
• Complete full periodontal charting and take radiographs on recall intervals.
• Screen for oral cancer, decay, and periodontal disease and flag findings for the doctor.
• Educate patients on home care effectively to change routine at home.
• Apply fluoride and sealants and administer local anesthesia where allowed by state law.
• Maintain complete clinical notes and uphold sterilization standards.

Job description

Hygiene is where most patients decide whether they trust a practice, and it is the hardest job in the building to do well when you are handed forty minutes and a broken schedule.

We give our hygienists appointment times that match the patient in the chair, help on the days the column warrants it, and a doctor who reads the periodontal charting and backs the recommendation.

What you'll do

• Perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance appropriate to each patient's diagnosis.
• Complete full periodontal charting and take radiographs on the recall interval.
• Screen for oral cancer, decay, and periodontal disease, and flag findings for the doctor.
• Educate patients on home care in a way that actually changes what they do at the sink.
• Apply fluoride and sealants, and administer local anesthetic where state law allows.
• Keep clinical notes complete and maintain sterilization standards.
