Job Summary

The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) directs oral hygiene care for KPDCP members, including comprehensive prevention, maintenance, therapeutic dental treatment, and/or restorative services. The RDH educates members about their oral health status, motivating them to achieve and maintain optimum oral health.

• Provide direct patient oral hygiene care, including prevention, maintenance, and therapeutic dental treatments.
• Document patient oral health data in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Provide oral hygiene instruction and education.
• Maintain a clinical environment compliant with health and safety standards.
• Support other office functions during downtime to promote a cooperative and positive work environment.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program with at least an associate's degree in applied science.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Dental Hygienist License (Oregon)
• National Provider Identifier
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Additional Requirements:

• Note: WA Initial and Renewable Limited License are not acceptable.
• Oregon Dental Hygiene license endorsement for local anesthesia is included in the Washington State license.
• Daily use of X-ray equipment, ultrasonic scalers, and handpieces.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nitrous oxide permit
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection control equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Restorative function endorsement (included in Oregon and Washington licenses)

Work Schedule: 4/10 schedule: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, rotational Saturday; Tuesdays off. Days and times vary.
