Job Summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is hiring a Dental Hygienist for the SY-Clinic Oral & Max Surgery.

Experience and Education

• High school graduate, graduate of a recognized dental or dental hygiene program accredited by the ADA, and licensed to practice in Texas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
• CPR certification required.

Job Duties

• Professionally clean patients' teeth through scaling and polishing.
• Administer dental preventive treatments, such as topical drugs.
• Advise patients on home care and dental treatments.
• Set up instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Clean and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments.
• Maintain instrument and handpiece sterilization and sharpening.
• Take and process radiographs, including labeling and filing.
• Provide patient education on dental care.
• Maintain records of services rendered.
• Assist with patient follow-up visits.
• Perform duties such as direct patient care, record management, and research record handling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
