Responsibilities

• Clean teeth and remove accretions, calculus, and stains as needed.
• Check lymph nodes for signs of tenderness or swelling.
• Review patient medical history and document findings.
• Examine gums and identify periodontal issues; record decay and disease.
• Maintain and operate dental equipment including x-ray machines.
• Assist dentists and dental assistants as part of the team.
• Promote preventive dental care and patient education.
• Maintain hygiene program and infection control procedures.
