Job summary

Primary Health Care (PHC) is seeking a Dental Hygienist for University Dental Clinic in Des Moines, IA. You will provide comprehensive dental hygiene care under supervising dentists, with a focus on underserved patients and health equity.

The role supports a 4-day work week (Mon-Fri 8 AM–5 PM with one weekday off) in a collaborative clinic. Iowa licensure, BLS, and mandatory reporter training are required, plus ongoing CE.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Current license to practice dental hygiene in the state of Iowa.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recognized by the American Heart Association.
• Current Mandatory Reporter Training: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse in Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Delivers comprehensive dental hygiene services under supervision.
• Assesses patients and assists dentists at chair side and with business-office tasks.
• Maintains dental hygiene records and patient education materials.
• Assists with sterilization and operatory disinfection and radiation safety.
• Participates in community outreach program development and education materials.
• Attends continuing education and departmental meetings as required.
