Virginia Family Dentistry is seeking a Full-time (4 or 5 days) or Part-time (1-3 days) Hygienist for our Brandermill location in the greater Richmond, Virginia area. Signing bonus available. Typical work hours are 8 am - 5 pm.

We have other Richmond area locations with full-time, part-time, and temporary positions. Applications are accepted from Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH) in Virginia and recent hygiene school graduates awaiting licensure.

Clinical Requirements

• CPR certification (American Heart Association, BLS for healthcare providers)
• Proficiency in hand instrumentation and ultrasonic devices
• Experience with digital radiographs and Dentrix preferred
• Scaling and Root Planing
• Certification to administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia (Virginia will cover certification costs)

Essential Functions

• Prepare operatory, review medical history, and seat patients
• Perform screenings, take x-rays, fluoride treatments
• Conduct prophylaxis, debridement, scaling, root planning, periodontal charting, and sealants
• Educate patients on oral health
• Communicate treatment plans and schedule follow-ups
• Document all clinical notes in Dentrix
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, State Board, and sterilization protocols

Physical Demands

Requires manual dexterity, visual acuity, physical stamina for long standing and walking, and ability to assist in patient transfers. The role demands good eye-hand coordination and physical endurance.
