Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean calcareous deposits and stains from teeth.
• Apply fluorides and sealants to arrest dental decay.
• Provide clinical services or health education to patients.
• Review patient medical history for indications of oral cancer.

The Dental Hygienist will also educate patients and families on oral hygiene, take and develops x-rays, and apply fluoride and sealants.

Minimum Qualifications

• NYS Registered Dental Hygienist.
• Familiarity with dental terminology and general principles of dentistry.
• Computer proficiency.
• Local Anesthesia certification.
• Excellent communication skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

This is a full time role for 8am-5pm shifts/5 days per week.

Compensation: Minimum: $84,000 per year Maximum: $94,000 per year contingent upon years of experience.

Key Duties

• Examine gums using probes to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease.
• Clean calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums.
• Apply fluorides, sealants or other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
• Provide clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients.
• Noting and reviewing patient medical history, and looking for indications of oral cancer.
