Job summary

HealthSource of Ohio is actively seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our patient-centered team. You will coordinate patient intake, prepare the dental operatory, and deliver preventive care including prophylaxis for adults and children in a fast-paced clinic.

You will take radiographs, assess oral health, document DMF, and support recall procedures. A valid Ohio RDH license and ADA-accredited education are required; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• ADA accredited dental hygiene program and Ohio RDH license are required.
• 1–2 years dental experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient intake and prepares operatory for exam procedures to maintain steady patient flow.
• Performs adult and pediatric prophylaxis.
• Obtains vital signs and radiographs as needed (panorex, FMX, bitewings, periapical, occlusal).
• Conducts preliminary exams for dental decay, charts DMF, and assesses OHI.
• Completes root planning and scaling, topical fluoride application, sealants, and recalls for adults and children.

• Coordinates patient intake and preparation for exam functions in a constant, steady fashion. Maintains organization and sets priorities to facilitate patient flow. Prepares the dental operatory for the specific procedures.
• Performs adult and pediatric prophylaxis.
• Takes patient’s vital signs and any radiographs needed for the exam, which may include a panorex, a full mouth series, bitewings, periapical or occlusal radiographs.
• Conducts preliminary exam for dental decay, charts DMF teeth, and assesses OHI.
• Completes root planning and scaling procedures, completes topical fluoride application, applies sealants, completes dental recall procedures for adults and children.

Dental Hygienist Qualifications:

• Graduate of an ADA accredited dental hygiene school and licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist by the Ohio Board of Dental Examiners.
• 1-2 years dental experience preferred
