Qualifikationen

• Must have a valid dental hygienist license in the state of practice.
• Diploma or degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Previous dental hygiene experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of oral health, infection control and safety regulations.
• Experience with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Aufgaben

• Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable before, during, and after appointments.
• Review medical and dental histories and conduct initial oral health assessments.
• Examine patients for signs of gingivitis, decay, and periodontal disease.
• Perform professional cleanings, remove plaque and tartar, apply fluoride.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Provide post-treatment instructions after procedures.
• Take dental X-rays and impressions as permitted by licensing.
• Assist dentists in identifying concerns and planning treatment.
• Maintain accurate patient records and dental charts.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment per infection control standards.
• Follow HIPAA requirements and health and safety regulations.
• Monitor dental supplies and restock as needed.
