Job summary

Dearborn West Dental in Dearborn, MI seeks a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our patient-centered practice. You will perform cleanings, periodontal evaluations, take X-rays, educate patients, and collaborate with dentists on individualized care plans in a safe, OSHA-compliant environment.

The role requires an active Michigan RDH license, an accredited RDH degree, and CPR/BLS certification; experience with dental practice software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RDH license.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience with dental practice management software preferred.
• Strong knowledge of periodontal therapy and preventive dental care.
• Excellent chairside manner with the ability to put patients at ease.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing procedures for patients.
• Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments, including periodontal evaluations.
• Take and review dental X-rays and document findings accurately in patient records.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, home care, and preventive strategies.
• Screen patients for oral cancer, gum disease, and other dental health concerns.
• Collaborate with dentists to develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant treatment environment.
