The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a qualified Dental Hygienist to deliver routine dental hygiene care under the supervision of the attending dentist. Responsibilities include cleanings, scaling, root planing, curettage, sealants, fluoride, radiographs, and patient education, with attention to patients from newborn to geriatric populations.

This on-site position supports department operations and maintains accurate patient records, with occasional clerical duties.

Qualificações

• Graduate from an accredited School of Dental Hygiene.
• Work experience may not substitute for the education requirement.
• Current Dental Hygiene License from the Alabama Board of Dental Examiners required.

Responsabilidades

• Performs dental cleanings, scaling, and routine dental hygiene procedures.
• Performs root planing, curettage, polishing, application of sealants, and fluoride treatments as directed and within scope of practice.
• Takes, develops, and mounts dental radiographs (X-rays) as necessary.
• Educates patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive dental care.
• Assists the attending dentist during patient examinations and dental procedures.
• Maintains accurate patient records, treatment documentation, and other required records.
• Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of department operations, as needed.
• Provides appropriate care and responds to the unique needs of patients from newborn through geriatric populations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
