Job Title: Dental Hygienist (Part-Time)

Join us at Whitman-Walker as a Dental Hygienist (Part-Time).

Job Summary

Provides high-quality routine dental hygiene care to patients at the Clinic, following a patient-centered approach. Collaborates with the Director of Dental Services, Staff Dentists, and the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive, culturally sensitive dental care to all clients.

Primary Duties
  1. Perform routine dental hygiene procedures including medical history updates, periodontal charting, radiograph processing, scaling, prophylaxis, and root planning.
  2. Educate patients on dental hygiene, developing treatment and prevention plans to extend care between visits.
  3. Participate in community outreach and education, particularly on HIV and LGBT oral health issues.
  4. Assist in the orientation of new volunteer dentists and hygienists.
  5. Engage in continuing education on HIV and LGBT oral health topics.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program or dental school.
  • Licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the District of Columbia.
  • Experience in HIV-related dental hygiene is preferred.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals.
Work Conditions

Standard office environment, with potential evening and weekend hours for organization events.
