Job summary

OnCall Dental Urgent Care in Tempe is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to join our high-touch team, delivering preventive care, periodontal therapy, and patient education alongside Dr. Greding, Dr. Heyrend, and our supporting staff using modern hygiene protocols and laser therapy.

This role offers a stable schedule (Wednesdays & Fridays, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM), no weekends, and bonus opportunities. Active AZ Dental Hygiene license and Laser Certification are required before starting.

Qualifications

• Active Arizona Dental Hygienist License (required).
• Laser Certification (required prior to start).
• CPR/BLS Certification for healthcare providers (required).
• Arizona Local Anesthesia Certification and Nitrous Oxide Analgesia Certification (preferred).
• 1+ years of experience with periodontal disease identification, SRP execution, and soft-tissue therapy.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Hygiene Care: Prophylaxis, SRP, and debridement with a thorough approach.
• Soft-Tissue Laser Therapy: Laser periodontal therapy and decontamination per guidelines.
• Periodontal Screening & Diagnostics: Evaluate periodontal health and measure probing depths.
• Digital Radiography: Capture low-radiation intraoral images to support diagnosis.
• Patient Education & Case Acceptance: Instruct on home care and maintenance.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain sanitation and HIPAA/OSHA standards.

Position Summary

As our Dental Hygienist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional preventive care, periodontal therapy, and oral health education. Partnering directly with Dr. Greding, Dr. Heyrend, and our skilled support staff, you will utilize modern hygiene protocols and laser therapy to help emergency and routine patients transition into optimal long-term oral health.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Hygiene Care: Perform adult and pediatric prophylaxis, deep scaling and root planing (SRP), and full-mouth debridement with a gentle, thorough approach.

• Soft-Tissue Laser Therapy: Administer laser periodontal therapy and laser-assisted decontamination in accordance with Arizona guidelines and office protocols.

• Periodontal Screening & Diagnostics: Conduct detailed periodontal evaluations, review medical histories, measure probing depths, and perform oral cancer screenings.

• Digital Radiography: Capture crisp, low-radiation digital X-rays and intraoral images to support doctor diagnostics and treatment planning.

• Patient Education & Case Acceptance: Educate patients on home care regimens, periodontal health, and the importance of routine maintenance following urgent or restorative treatments.

• Safety & Compliance: Maintain immaculate operatory sanitation and sterilization adhering strictly to OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Arizona Dental Hygienist License: Current, unencumbered license issued by the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners (required).

• Laser Certification: Active Arizona Dental Laser Certification (required prior to start date).

• CPR/BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification for healthcare providers (required).

• Anesthesia & N2O Credentials: Arizona Local Anesthesia Certification and Nitrous Oxide Analgesia Certification (preferred).

• Clinical Expertise: 1+ years of experience with strong proficiency in periodontal disease identification, SRP execution, and soft-tissue therapy, paired with a reassuring chairside manner.
