Position Details

***This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Remove tartar, stains, and plaque from teeth
  2. Apply sealants and fluorides to help protect teeth
  3. Take and develop dental x-rays
  4. Keep track of patient care and treatment plans
  5. Teach patients oral hygiene, such as how to brush and floss correctly
  6. Depending on employment status, place and carve filling materials, and temporary fillings, and apply periodontal dressings
  7. Assist in managing day-to-day activities and prioritizing tasks
  8. Operate a computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and basic office software
  9. Comply with all applicable standards and guidelines
  10. Participate in meetings and task forces to improve quality, communicate issues, obtain approvals, and stay updated on new developments and policies
  11. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  1. Associate's degree or certificate in dental hygiene
  2. Successful completion of an accredited educational program in dental hygiene and certification as a radiographer
  3. Experience in private practice or healthcare facilities demonstrating core competencies
  4. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, radiography, and periodontology
  5. Current unrestricted license and CPR certification
  6. Participation in required training, including HIPAA
  7. Recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months in the past year
  8. Proficiency in English (speaking, writing, and communication)
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment
  • Sitting and standing for prolonged periods
