Position Details

***This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Remove tartar, stains, and plaque from teeth
  2. Apply sealants and fluorides to help protect teeth
  3. Take and develop dental x-rays
  4. Keep track of patient care and treatment plans
  5. Teach patients oral hygiene, such as how to brush and floss correctly
  6. Depending on the state of employment, place and carve filling materials, and temporary fillings, and apply periodontal dressings
  7. Assist with managing day-to-day activities and prioritizing tasks
  8. Operate a personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software
  9. Comply with all applicable Acuity standards and guidelines
  10. Attend and participate in meetings and task force groups to improve quality, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay updated on new developments, policies, and efforts
  11. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or certificate in dental hygiene
  • Successful completion of an accredited educational program that meets or exceeds regulatory standards, and certification as a radiographer
  • Relevant experience in private practice or healthcare facilities demonstrating core competencies of current dental hygiene practice
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, radiography, and periodontology
  • Hold and maintain a current, unrestricted license
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Participation in required training, including HIPAA
  • Recent clinical experience in patient care within the past 6 months
  • Proficiency in speaking, writing, and communicating in English
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Work primarily in an interior/office environment
  • Sitting and standing for prolonged periods
