Position Details

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  1. Remove tartar, stains, and plaque from teeth.
  2. Apply sealants and fluorides to help protect teeth.
  3. Take and develop dental x-rays.
  4. Maintain patient care and treatment plans.
  5. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices such as brushing and flossing.
  6. Depending on employment state, place and carve filling materials, temporary fillings, and apply periodontal dressings.
  7. Assist with managing daily activities and prioritizing tasks.
  8. Use computers for email, electronic calendars, and support software.
  9. Adhere to all applicable standards and guidelines.
  10. Participate in meetings and task forces to improve quality, communicate issues, and stay updated on new developments and policies.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Associate's degree or certificate in dental hygiene.
  2. Successful completion of an accredited educational program in dental hygiene.
  3. Certification as a radiographer.
  4. Relevant professional experience in private practice or healthcare facilities.
  5. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, radiography, and periodontology.
  6. Current unrestricted license.
  7. Current CPR certification.
  8. Participation in required training, including HIPAA.
  9. Recent clinical experience in patient care (at least 6 months in the past year).
  10. Proficiency in English communication skills.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Work is typically performed in an indoor/office environment.
  • Involves prolonged sitting and standing.
