Position Details

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Remove tartar, stains, and plaque from teeth
  2. Apply sealants and fluorides to help protect teeth
  3. Take and develop dental x-rays
  4. Keep track of patient care and treatment plans
  5. Teach patients oral hygiene, such as how to brush and floss correctly
  6. Depending on the state of employment, the hygienist may place and carve filling materials, and temporary fillings, and apply periodontal dressings
  7. Assist with managing day-to-day activities and prioritizing tasks
  8. Operate a computer to access email, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software
  9. Comply with all applicable standards and guidelines
  10. Participate in meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay informed about new developments and policies
  11. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  1. Associate's degree or certificate in dental hygiene
  2. Successful completion of an accredited educational program meeting regulatory standards, and certification as a radiographer
  3. Experience in private practice or healthcare facilities demonstrating core competencies
  4. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, radiography, and periodontology
  5. Current unrestricted license in dental hygiene
  6. Current CPR certification
  7. Participation in required training, including HIPAA
  8. Recent clinical experience (at least 6 months in the past year)
  9. Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Work is typically performed in an interior/office environment
  • Sitting and standing for prolonged periods
