Qualifications

Licensed dental hygienist with RDH credentials.
Associate degree or higher in Dental Hygiene.
Current state RDH license required.
Strong patient care and communication skills.
Ability to chart and take vital signs.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient screenings and charting.
Remove calculus and plaque from teeth surfaces.

This role is crucial for delivering comprehensive patient care, including advanced hygiene and patient education, in a supportive, state-of-the-art environment with a dedicated hygiene assistant. Armstrong Advanced Dental Concepts is a fully digital, comprehensive care dental practice located in Windham, ME. We are committed to providing our community with a wide range of top-tier services, including restorative and cosmetic dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, endodontics, extractions, and implant restorations. Our practice prides itself on a supportive team environment, advanced technology (including Air Flow Master Units in every hygiene operatory), and a focus on delivering the highest standard of patient comfort and quality care. We currently utilize Practice Works software.

Pay

$45 - $50 per hour

Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

Shift & Schedule

Monday & Wednesday: 7:00a.m.–2:00p.m.

Tuesday & Thursday: 11:00a.m.–6:00p.m.

Requirements

License & Certification: Licensed dental hygienist
Associate’s or advanced degree in Dental Hygiene.
Current state certification/license to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
Strong commitment to patient care, oral health, and delivering quality work.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
Ability to perform all key duties, including patient assessment, charting, and taking vital signs.

Preferences

One (1) or more years of relevant experience in the dental industry. We are open to considering the right candidate without experience.
Certification in administering Local Anesthesia (LA) and/or Nitrous Oxide (N₂O) sedation.
Experience with Practice Works software.

Job Description

Perform comprehensive patient screening procedures, including taking and reviewing health histories, oral cancer screenings, head and neck inspections, dental charting, and recording vital signs.
Skillfully remove calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth.
Apply preventive materials to teeth, including dental sealants and fluorides.
Educate and counsel patients on proper oral hygiene techniques (brushing, flossing) and the impact of nutrition on oral health.
Take dental impressions for study casts as needed.
Collaborate closely with the dental team and a dedicated hygiene assistant to ensure efficient workflow and a high standard of patient care.
