Job summary

El Centro Family Health in New Mexico is seeking a Dental Hygienist to promote dental health through prophylaxis, screenings, radiographs, and patient education in a federally qualified health center.

The role involves chairside support, charting, taking X-rays, and delivering preventive treatments while adhering to the Dental Practice Act and safety protocols. A NM dental hygiene license and BLS/CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

Graduate from a two-year ADA-accredited school of Dental Hygiene.
Licensure to practice dental hygiene in NM; endorsement if license is from another state.
BLS or CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

Welcome and seat patients professionally and ensure proper draping.
Follow safety and procedural protocols for smooth hygiene care.
Fabricate temporary restorations, clean/polish removable appliances, remove cement from crowns/bridges.
Counsel patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Capture high-quality X-rays and maintain medical/dental histories.
Document hygiene services in patient records with vitals and histories.
Deliver preventive treatments to optimize long-term oral health.
Maintain a safe, clean work environment and comply with regulations.
