Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities

• Promotes dental health by completing prophylaxis, oral cancer screening, radiographic studies, and procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
• Prepares patients for treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping.
• Provides information to patients and staff by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains instrumentation through sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments.
• Selects materials and evaluates patients' oral health for dental visits.
• Completes prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins.
• Detects disease through screenings, examinations, and radiographs.
• Prevents decay by applying fluorides and other agents.

Dental Hygienist Job Requirements

• Active dental hygiene license in KS.
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education.
