Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities

• Promote dental health through prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings, radiographs, and charting, in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
• Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping.
• Provide information and answer questions for patients and staff.
• Maintain instrumentation by sterilizing and sharpening tools.
• Select materials and evaluate patients' oral health for hygiene visits.
• Perform dental prophylaxis, cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gums.
• Detect disease via screenings, examinations, and radiographs.
• Apply fluorides and other agents to prevent cavities.

Dental Hygienist Job Requirements

• Active dental hygiene license in CO.
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education.
