Heartland Dental is seeking a Dental Hygienist for Dental Care of Lightfoot in Williamsburg, VA. You’ll provide high-quality hygiene care, educate patients, and work with a collaborative team in a modern practice focused on patient wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Virginia dental hygienist license required (RVH/VA) and degree in dental hygiene.
• CPR Certification required.
• Excellent knowledge of dentistry, hygiene procedures, patient screening and medical history documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care and patient education.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure quality patient care.
• Use Dentrix, iTero, and digital scanning tools as part of routine care.
• Adhere to safety and infection control procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current dental hygienist license in Virginia and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene (where required)
• Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
• CPR Certification

Preferred Experience

• Any years of clinical experience
• Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
• Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients’ dental health
• Clinical needs as required by office

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
• Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person)periodically throughout the year

This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment.
