Qualifications

Job Summary

Dental Hygienist – West Mifflin, PA (Full‑time/Part‑time). The role focuses on providing preventive dental care, educating patients, and maintaining accurate clinical records.

Responsibilities

• Seat, position, and dismiss scheduled hygiene patients.
• Complete preliminary clinic forms.
• Review medical history and discuss any problems with the dentist.
• Provide patient education in toothbrush instruction, flossing demonstration, and additional information as needed.
• Perform prophylaxis: supragingival scaling, sub‑gingival scaling, root planing, gingival curettage, and polishing.
• Takes, processes, and mounts radiographs for hygiene patients as deemed necessary by the dentist.
• Apply topical fluoride to children.
• Assist with first‑aid procedures.
• Maintain recall system and send reminder letters to patients for their recall appointments.
• Receive and maintain updated CPR training.

A dental hygienist may perform any duty delegated to the dental assistant and may assist when no hygiene patients are available.

Minimum Requirements

• Dental Hygiene license; X‑Ray Certification, Public Health License preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene (Bachelor's preferred).
• Current PA State License.
