Job summary

AccessHealth in Washington, DC is seeking a Dental Hygienist to provide preventive and periodontal care in a modern clinical setting, supported by a dental assistant under our Assisted Hygiene model.

You will perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, oral cancer screenings, and education, collaborating with dentists to plan treatments and optimize chair time.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Active hygiene license and CPR/BLS certification.
• Proficiency with digital charting, radiographs, and intraoral cameras.

Responsibilities

• Provide prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance.
• Perform scaling and root planing as required.

Role Overview

As a Dental Hygienist, you will provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal care in a modern clinical environment, supported by a dedicated dental assistant within our Team (Assisted) Hygiene model. Your responsibilities include performing prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, oral cancer screenings, and patient education, all aligned with evidence-based guidelines. You will collaborate with dentists to assess patient needs, optimize chair time, and support same-day treatments, ensuring high-quality patient experiences. Building strong patient relationships through clear communication and personalized care is essential. You'll work closely with the broader team to deliver seamless care and engage in ongoing professional development through CE opportunities and peer collaboration.

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Active hygiene license and applicable certifications (Anesthesia/Nitrous, CPR/BLS)
• Proficiency with digital charting, radiographs, intraoral cameras, and technology-driven care
• Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and physical ability to perform hygiene procedures
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
