Job summary

Southern California Periodontics & Implantology-Tina Beck-Mayo DDS,MS seeks a part-time Dental Hygienist to join our periodontal specialty team. You will perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and support the doctor with exams and patient education.

Requirements include a current California RDH license and at least two years of hygienist experience, plus strong infection-control practices and meticulous charting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current periodontal procedures and biofilm removal.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing.
• Educate patients on optimal home care and plaque/biofilm removal.
• Assist the doctor with examinations and treatment planning.
• Sterilize dental instruments and equipment per protocol.
• Prepare treatment room and patient for hygiene treatment.
• Maintain accurate patient records and health information.

We are looking for an experienced Dental Hygienist to join our team. Your main function will be to help our patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health by performing adult prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planning, and assist the doctor by performing examinations, oral health education, and meticulous home care recommendations.As a specialty periodontal practice, we pride ourselves in providing excellent care to all of our patients and expect our hygienists to be attentive and detailed in their work.

This position is PART-TIME on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8-5m.

You must have a current state license and at least two years of professional experience.

Dental Hygienist Duties and Responsibilities:

• -Maintain current health information for all patients
• -Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• -Acquire digital x-rays and photography when necessary
• -Perform meticulous plaque, calculus, and biofilm removal for patients
• -Educate patients on optimal home care for maximum plaque and biofilm removal
• -Provide clear communication with referring offices following patient treatment
• -Sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to protocol
• -Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed office procedures and protocols.
• -Prepare patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patient.
• -Clean room after patient care adhering to office infection-control guidelines
• -Restock treatment area

Dental Hygienist Requirements and Qualifications:

• -Current California license as Registered Dental Hygienist
• -Minimum 2 years experience as a registered dental hygienist
• -Excellent understanding of current recommended dental hygiene procedures, and use of related instruments and equipment, for excellent biofilm and plaque removal
• -Perform recommended cleaning, maintenance, and sharpening of instruments
• -Excellent communication skills with patients, team members, and referring offices
• -Maintain patient confidence and keep information confidential, for HIPAA compliance
• -Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• -Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
