Job description

Busy, privately owned Dental Office is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Dental Hygienist. Our company features 12 locations with significant opportunities for internal growth. This position will be at our Saint Petersburg office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of recent Dental Hygiene experience; Dentrix experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the overall oral health of patients; examine for signs of periodontal disease, oral cancer, or other lesions, and oral manifestations of systemic disease.
• Perform oral hygiene procedures as prescribed by the Doctor, including prophylaxis, periodontal scaling and root planning, debridement, and application of fluoride, sealants, whitening, and other treatments.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene care to maintain or improve oral health.
• Administer anesthetic when needed.
• Inform Dentists of restorative concerns for future examination.
• Assist with radiographs, sterilization, and office procedures to maximize patient flow.
• Consult with Doctors and staff to ensure excellent patient experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized workplace, perform routine housekeeping, and equipment maintenance.
• Follow safety and health protocols.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications

• Licensed and/or Registered Dental Hygienist
• Hygienist experience required; Dentrix experience preferred.
• Ability to manipulate small instruments and equipment with dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Meet state-specific requirements.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, talk, and update information in computer systems.
