Position Summary:

The Dental Hygienist collaborates with dentists to meet patient oral health needs, performing prophylaxis, screenings, periodontal maintenance, charting, and other responsibilities adhering to high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess dental condition and needs
• Provide direct patient care, including cleaning and polishing
• Take vital signs and radiographs
• Apply sealants and fluorides
• Maintain electronic records
• Educate patients on oral health
• Sterilize instruments
• Complete treatment plans and explain to patients
• Communicate patient concerns to dentists
• Perform ancillary duties as needed

Requirements:

• Must be punctual (e.g., available by 7:45 am)
• Completion of dental hygiene program or associate's degree and valid North Carolina Hygienist license
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependability, initiative, confidentiality, and good judgment
• Ability to interpret written and oral instructions
