Job description

Overview

Location: Fort Riley, KS

Responsibilities

1. Examine patient's oral cavity to include mouth, throat, and pharynx.
2. Record conditions of teeth and surrounding tissues.
3. Refer patients to dentist, as needed.
4. Provide instructions in proper oral hygiene care.
5. Explain the common causes of tooth decay and its relationship to general diet.
6. Construct mouth guards and soft night guards.
7. Polish restorations and apply pit and fissure sealants.
8. Record patients treated.
9. Check and maintain instruments to ensure working condition.
10. Clean, sharpen, and sterilize instruments.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Current Dental Hygienist license, required.
2. Training received must include coursework on radiation physics, biology, health, safety/protection, X-ray films/digital radiography, image quality, and radiographic techniques.
3. No minimum years of experience are required.
4. Current BLS certification, required.
